We're serious about protecting your info and your vehicle's data
Last Updated: October 24, 2025
But honestly, this one's worth skimming through. We're a small shop here in Toronto, and we handle your personal details plus some pretty sensitive vehicle data when we're running diagnostics on your ride.
Bottom line? We don't sell your info to anyone, we don't spam you with nonsense, and we keep your vehicle's computer data locked down tight. That's the short version, but if you wanna know the details, keep reading.
Got questions after reading? Just give us a shout at service@javelornstronghold.info - I'm happy to explain anything in plain English.
Alright, so here's what we're gathering when you work with us:
We're not collecting data for kicks - everything we ask for has a reason:
Can't fix your Audi's transmission or tune your BMW without knowing what we're working with. The diagnostic data from your vehicle's computer tells us what's going on under the hood.
Need to let you know your parts came in or your car's ready for pickup. Sometimes there's a recall we think you should know about, or we found something during inspection that needs attention.
Gotta keep service records for warranty purposes and Ontario automotive regulations. It's not optional - comes with running a licensed shop.
Looking at what services people need helps us stock the right parts and keep the right equipment. Website analytics show us what info folks are looking for.
Pretty straightforward - can't charge for services without payment processing. We use encrypted payment systems that don't store your full card details on our end.
Security's not just a checkbox for us - we're handling sensitive vehicle computer data and personal info daily. Here's what we do:
All digital records are encrypted. Your vehicle's ECU data isn't sitting around in plain text files.
Our systems are hosted in Canadian data centers with proper security protocols and regular backups.
Only the techs working on your vehicle see your data. We're not a huge operation - everyone here knows to keep client info confidential.
Paper records are locked up. Our diagnostic equipment isn't connected to the internet when we're pulling data from vehicles.
Website's running on HTTPS - anything you submit through contact forms is encrypted in transit.
Software gets updated, security patches applied. Basic maintenance stuff that keeps things locked down.
Short answer: almost nobody. We're not in the business of selling customer lists or sharing your data around. But there are a few specific situations:
Sometimes need to share your VIN or vehicle specs to order the right parts. They're under contract to keep it confidential.
Credit card transactions go through secure payment gateways. They see what they need to process payment, nothing more.
Only if you're making a claim and ask us to provide service documentation. We won't send anything without your go-ahead.
If we get a proper court order or there's a legitimate legal obligation, we gotta comply. Hasn't happened yet in our years of operation.
If you're getting warranty work done, we might need to share service records with the manufacturer. Again, only with your permission.
Yeah, we use cookies - but nothing sketchy. Just the basic stuff to make the website work properly:
| Cookie Type | What It Does | Can You Opt Out? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential Cookies | Makes the site actually work - remembers your session, keeps forms functioning | Nope - site won't work without 'em |
| Analytics Cookies | Tells us which pages get visited, where people are coming from - helps us improve things | Yep - you can disable in settings |
| Preference Cookies | Remembers stuff like language preference or if you've dismissed notifications | Sure, but you'll have to reset preferences each visit |
Most browsers let you control cookies through settings. Here's how to manage them:
Your data, your rules. Here's what you can do:
Wanna see what we've got on file? Just ask. We'll send you a copy of your service records and any personal info we're holding. Usually takes a couple days to compile.
Got the wrong phone number on file? Email misspelled? Let us know and we'll fix it immediately. We want our records accurate anyway.
Not coming back? We can delete your data. Fair warning though - we gotta keep some stuff for legal/tax reasons (like invoices), but we'll remove what we can.
Want your service history to take to another shop? We'll export it in a readable format. No gatekeeping your own vehicle's records.
Don't wanna hear about seasonal specials or maintenance reminders? Hit unsubscribe on any email or tell us to stop. We're not gonna be pushy about it.
You can ask us to limit how we use your data. We'll still keep service records but can restrict other uses if you want.
To exercise any of these rights:
Email us at service@javelornstronghold.info or call (416) 555-8947. We'll verify it's actually you (for security) and then handle your request ASAP - usually within a week.
We don't hoard data forever, but there are practical and legal reasons we keep some stuff:
As long as you're bringing your vehicle in, we keep your complete service history. Kinda need it to do our job properly and track what's been done to your car.
Once you stop coming in, we keep records for seven years. That's partly legal requirement (tax stuff, liability), partly practical (in case you come back or need old records).
If you've opted in to emails or texts, we'll keep your contact info until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Then it's gone within 30 days.
Anonymous browsing data gets auto-deleted after a couple years. It's aggregated anyway, so not personally identifiable.
